Of the 247 school bags that we received over the past year, some of the bags that had been carved into the shape of a cherry blossom during their production were donated.
Through this memorial service, we offered prayers and expressed our gratitude for the leather and school bags that had been used with care until now.

What I felt after the memorial service
For those of us who work with leather, "appreciation for materials" and "the spirit of cherishing things" are important feelings that we should never forget.
The things we use casually in our daily lives each have their own role to play and have come to be here through someone's hands.
As I thought about these things again, I quietly clasped my hands together.
We will continue to work closely with leather and strive to create products.
We also carefully placed the school bags filled with everyone's memories in a memorial service.
